MATHESIA PRIVACY POLICY

This privacy policy describes what information we collect when you visit the network, how we use that information, and what choices we offer you to access, update, and control it.
This version of the policy is effective as of July 1, 2014.

Information that We Collect and How We Use Information
  • Through www.mathesia.com (the “Site”), Mathesia will collect information that can identify you, such as your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, experience, field of expertise, educational background and curriculum vitae, and other similar information (“Your Information”) when it is voluntarily submitted to us when you register as a Solver, when you update your profile information or when you request information from us (however, see discussion below about “IP Addresses” if you have a broadband connection). We will use Your Information to respond to requests you may make of us, to communicate with you about Mathesia Projects, and from time to time, we may refer to Your Information to better understand your needs and how we can improve our websites, products and services.
  • You may utilize social networking sites not operated by us. That is, you may be able to sign on to your Mathesia account using the LinkedIn social networking site sign-on and connect through that social networking site to Your Information. Depending on the social networking site’s policies, we may collect certain information about you from your account on the social networking site (such as gender, age, occupation, hobbies, interests, zip code, contacts or other information you have provided to the social networking site) or about your activity on the social networking site. Once Your Information is received by us, we will treat any such information as if you had given it directly to us, in accordance with this policy.
  • In some cases, the sharing settings of a social networking site may effectively override the choices you have made on our Site. Please remember that if you embed, post or link to Your Information on our Site on a social networking site’s page that is visible to the public, the terms of this Privacy Policy will not apply.
  • If a Solution that you submit in response to a Mathesia Contest is selected as the Project winner, we will request certain information (Reward Information) from you in order to (a) pay the contest reward to you and (b) comply with our obligations under tax law and other applicable laws. This information will for no reason whatsoever be incorporated into Your Information that is stored by the Site.
  • Areas of this Site that collect Your Information use industry standard secure socket layer encryption (SSL); however, to take advantage of this your browser must support encryption protection.

You should be aware that this site is not intended for use by, or designed to attract, individuals under the age of 18. You may not register as a Solver if you are under the age of 18, or have not reached the age of majority in your jurisdiction. We do not collect personally identifiable information from any person we actually know is an individual under the age of 13.

Sharing of Your Information
  • We may share Your Information with agents, contractors or partners of Mathesia in connection with services that these individuals or entities perform for, or with, Mathesia. These agents, contractors or partners are restricted from using this data in any way other than to provide services for Mathesia, or services for the collaboration in which they and Mathesia are engaged (for example, our Pitchers). By submitting a Proposed Solution to a Mathesia Project, for example, you acknowledge that we may share Your Information with Pitchers as part of the Project evaluation process, and you consent that we may share Your Information with Pitchers for this purpose.
  • Mathesia reserves the right to share Your Information to respond to duly authorized information requests of governmental authorities or where required by law.
We may also provide Your Information to a third party in connection with the sale, assignment, or other transfer of the business of this website to which the information relates, in which case we will require any such buyer to agree to treat Your Information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Links to Third Party Websites

As a convenience to our visitors, our Site may contain links to sites that we believe may offer useful information to you or the web sites of our Pitchers. The policies and procedures we described here do not apply to any third party sites. We suggest contacting those sites directly for information on their privacy, security, data collection, and distribution policies.

Notices and Revisions

Our business changes constantly and our Privacy Notice may change also. We may e-mail periodic reminders of our notices and conditions, unless you have instructed us not to, but you should check our Site frequently to see recent changes. Unless stated otherwise, our current Privacy Notice applies to all information that we have about you and your account. We will not make material changes to our policies and practices to make them less protective of Your Information collected in the past under prior policies without the consent of affected registered users.
